PhytoKeys launches GBIF hosted portal

PhytoKeys has established its own data portal hosted by the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF). This initiative follows the successful launch of similar portals for other Pensoft journals, such as ZooKeys, MycoKeys, and the pioneer Biodiversity Data Journal, and reflects PhytoKeys' ongoing commitment to advancing open access and the discoverability of plant biodiversity data. Through this collaboration with GBIF, Pensoft is actively contributing to the global effort of liberating biodiversity data locked within research publications.
The PhytoKeys portal on GBIF aims to enhance the visibility and facilitate the reuse of the extensive floristic data published within the journal. By providing a dedicated platform linked to GBIF's infrastructure, the portal enables researchers, conservationists, and policymakers to more easily access and explore the data supporting PhytoKeys' scientific findings. This integration fosters a stronger connection between the journal's publications and the underlying biodiversity evidence, aligning with the principles of FAIR data and promoting greater transparency and reproducibility in botanical research.
The launch of this hosted portal signifies PhytoKeys' dedication to empowering the next generation of plant scientists by providing streamlined access to crucial biodiversity information, and promoting a more interconnected and open research landscape in plant sciences.
