Dongwei Zhao joins PhytoKeys as a Subject Editor

Dongwei Zhao is a Lecturer at Central South University of Forestry and Technology, interested in the evolution of plants under natural and artificial selection. He focuses on Camellia (Theaceae), which contains economically valued species, such as tea, camellias, and oil camellia. His aim is to clarify nomenclatural and taxonomic problems, reconstruct a robust phylogenetic tree of Camellia and provide an up-to-date classification for the group, and detect the domestication effect of tea plants and oil camellias. Dongwei teaches Botany and Dendrology.
